Live Events

The Live Events Junior class allows students the opportunity to learn all about the live events industry and will gain hands on experience with live sound, lighting production, stage management, show calling, rigging, health & safety and much more. Your child can also gain a Young Technicians Academy manual handling certificate.

This junior class will help give your child a beginner’s level understanding of each of the areas we cover within Live Events. This will lead them to our senior classes where your child will have the opportunity to work with other Young Technicians Academy & LAPA students on a number of events that are held throughout the year. (These opportunities will be made available to the Junior classes also, where students are showing promise)

Your child will potentially have the chance to work alongside industry professionals and our tutors to run stages at these events we support. Tasks can include; backstage crew, liaising with artists, transporting equipment, band changeovers, operating the sound & lighting desks as well as enjoying the events themselves.

Overall, this course will allow your child the opportunity to develop a new set of skills that can provide them with future career opportunities in the live events industry as well as becoming a valuable part of a team & building new friendships.
